Scientific Observations[edit]

The App Scientific Observations (SO) function allows users to manages the collection of scientifically useful data. It is accessed by tapping the Atom icon. The corner icons functions as described on the Catalog page. Tapping the Become a Member image links to a Google Doc form for registering for the Unistellar Citizen Science program (if your device has Internet access; otherwise an error were occur). The Advanced Users "button" is inactive.

There are four boxes that when tapped allow observation parameters to be entered for each of the SO programs. After selecting the desired program, users will first enter the sky coordinates of the target in Right Ascension and Declination taken from the appropriate Unistellar Campaign Prediction page. The user may enter delete the shown values and enter the numerical values separated by spaces, or may use/reuse the units characters (h m s/° ' "). "d" may be substituted for "°". (Note these values may be automatically filled when the "Deeplink" is used from the Unistellar prediction page.) You may tap Goto after entering the coordinates to have your connected and Oriented evScope to point to the location. Tapping Skip will take you to the measurement parameters page, where the observation values from the Prediction page are entered. Tapping Save opens the Start Recording page, where mission settings and recording status are shown, alone with the current eVscope Live image. Tap Record to beging the observation session.
