Common features[edit]

All eVscope models have the following statistics and features in common (or nearly so). Refer to the Unistellar website for complete specifications.

  • The basic design is a Newtonian reflecting telescope with an electronic light-detecting sensor at the prime focus. The primary parabolic mirror has a diameter of 114mm (4.5 inches) with a focal length of 450mm (17.7 in).
  • The focal ratio is f/4, with an optical magnification fixed at 50x.
  • The optical tube, motorized altitude/azimuth mount, electronics and battery is contained in a single unit, which has female USB-C (eVscope charging only) and USB-A (accessory power) ports.
  • eVscope command and control is strictly via WiFi using the Unistellar smartphone application software (App).
  • The LED associated with the On/Off button serves as a local indicator for eVscope activity and status. This Unistellar article describes the LED indications.
