eVscope-2 (eV2)
eVscope 2[edit]
The Unistellar eVscope 2 (eV2) as purchased and shipped in 2021 arrives in a cardboard shipping box measuring 80cm x 57cm x 33cm weighing in at 17.5kg. Inside the shipping box in the product box. Padding is provided by solid foam with three compartments: telescope/backpack, tripod, and accessories (described in separate sections). Also in the box is a “Safety Instructions” sheet and three trifold “Quick Start Guides” in English, French, and German.
Telescope[edit]
The eVscope 2 is shipped in its custom backpack when purchased together. The optical tube and telescope mount are a self-contained single unit and are non-detachable. Installed on the telescope are the dust cover, Bahtinov mask, and eyepiece cover. The mask (a plastic disk with a grid of straight and diagonal slits) and dust cover (a solid plastic disk) fit together as a single piece and can be separated by twisting the cover counterclockwise. The telescope is held steady in the pack by a strap/clasp around the tube. The backpack contains a removable accessory case that also serves the pad the eVscope when installed. A foam disk-shaped pad labeled “Remove before use” is inserted between the bottom of the optical tube and the base for shipping.
Backpack[edit]
The custom eVscope backpack improves the storage and handling of the telescope and accessories. It has a large removable case for storage and additional padding for the telescope optical. There are multiple storage pockets inside and outside the pack. A removable rain cover is stored in a pocket at the bottom of the backpack. A carrying handle and padded shoulder/waist straps provide options for transporting short or long distances.
Tripod[edit]
The eVscope tripod is single piece tripod with a flat custom head and 3-section legs, very similar to Benro S-series tripods. Two of the legs have foam padding on their upper sections. There are two telescope mounting screws in the head that can be removed. Adjustable cams at the leg joints with the tripod head allow the setting of three legs splay angles, allowing additional stability and lower center of gravity if needed.
Accessories[edit]
The accessory box contains:
- An AC Adapter with three detachable plug heads for US (Type A), UK (Type G), and Euro (Type C) AC outlets. The input voltage range is 100VAC - 240VAC, 50 or 60Hz. The output to the USB-C connector is 5.0VDC, 2.4A, 12.0W
- Two replacement telescope mounting screws for the tripod
- A canvas pouch containing five telescope adjustment tools:
- Tripod Tool 1: 8mm hex socket
- Tripod Tool 2: 5.5mm hex key
- Tripod Tool 3: 4mm hex key
- Telescope Tool 1: 4mm Torx (star) key
- Telescope Tool 2: 3mm hex key
